CareerDecision

Who really is concerned about reaching to the very top? Only those who dream of the very top.

Reaching the TOP is like climbing many peaks, one higher than the other. If one had set their eyes on climbing Mt Everest, then the better way is to climb smaller peaks and enjoy the feeling of smaller successes before you go for the big one. Yes, there are a few who have attempted to climb the BIG one and have reached the top too. But then they have list the fun of reaching multiple tops.

So how do we decide what is the right mountain for us and how do we keep moving from one mountain top to the other? Is it wise to move from one peak to another? Should we not wait for some time, maybe this peak will become / grow bigger?

Career Decision making is what prevents us from seeing an opportunity when one exists or creating one if they don’t. Many of us fail to recognise our strengths and usually expect organisations to take care of us. BIG MISTAKE

Organisations are not created to build careers. They are built to make Profits!

You are not required to become emotional when it comes to planning your career within an organisation. DON’T END UP BEING A BANYAN TREE. Which thinks it is the one which founded an organisation, built it and is now the protector / supporter etc. HELL NO!

I did that mistake! I gave my life for my company literally and expected them to take care of me for life. They did to some extent but the moment, it comes to making a decision which is in the interest of the organisation, they will take that first

So, in all fairness, Organisations are basically brick and mortar. The people at the Top are just as human as you are. When it comes to decision making they will have to fall back on the reasons why the organisation was created in the first place. To establish itself, make profits and share its profits – Investors first and then to its employees

Now lets look at different organisations and how you can plan your career to grow from one stage to another. When to spot your next move, what are the factors which indicate the time is right and how to ensure you have marked all the boxes of your checklist.

In this series we shall be talking about all relevant aspects which are going to make your CareerTakeFlyght.
